2 Peter 3:17-18 « You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. »

Most Bible historians believe that this letter from the apostle Peter was written just a few short years before he was put to death for his faith. These are his last recorded words Bible! I’ve often wondered when I am old and ready to depart this earth what my finals words to my children would be. And I can’t think of anything more profond than encouraging them to continue to grow.

The moment you stop growing, you start dying. It has always been the Father’s plan to give you enough to start this life. But what you do with the life given you is in your hands. You can play the role of the victim all your life and end up with nothing. You can complain, gripe and put the blame for your mediocrity on others. Or you can decide to the play the role of a child of God; one who is redeemed from the curse of this world, and set free from the limitations that others have placed on you. You can decide to press forward to a higher call, that which is in Jesus Christ.

No one can make you stop growing. No one can decide in your place that you have no right to improve yourself, and to become something better than what you were.

As we come to the end of the Daniel Fast I want to leave you with one final exhortation, the same that the apostle Peter left the early church: GROW! AND NEVER STOP GROWING!

Never let finances, time, or opportunity decide the potential that you will attain in this life. Never let your family members, your friends or your colleagues determine just how far you can grow.

God says to you today: Continue growing my child! So, how do you plan to do that? In what areas do you need to grow the most?

Do you need to learn more about the Bible and your holy faith? Do you need to learn a new skill to improve your employment opportunities? Do you need to learn a new language? Do you need to learn how to better communicate with others and hence improve your relationships?

Please DO NOT close this Prayer Guide without praying about in which areas you will improve your life. Make sure that the effects of this Daniel Fast will last throughout this year. Determine that this very moment in time is a spring board into the next season of your life, a season of growth, expansion and enlargement. And just maybe, the price that you pay to grow throughout this year will inspire countless others to do the same. And together we can inspire this world to draw closer to God’s kingdom.

Father, thank You for all you have done in my life during this Daniel Fast.  As I enter the final day I put before you this school year and I ask you for Your grace that will make me grow.  I refuse all the limitations that I have put on my life.  I refuse all the limitations that others have put on me as well.  And I determine in my heart that I will grow; and I will give You every reason to enlarge me for Your praise and glory.  Amen.
