2 Pierre 1:2 « May grace and peace ever be increasing in you, in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. »
All that is produced in our lives is the fruit of the depth of our knowledge of God. Jesus prayed for this in John 17:3 “This is eternal life, that they may know you…” The word “knowledge” in the Bible doesn’t mean “have information about” someone, but rather “experience, interact, meet, commune, share relations” with someone. It is the same word used for the intimacy between man and wife : “Adam knew Eve, and Eve conceived…”
The fruit that God wants to produce in our lives is the result of our communion with Him. We need His grace and His peace to be increasing in our lives. Peace is like security in our hearts, and grace is like divine power : you will be saturated with both when you meet with God. And not just on Sundays but every day!
Today is an excellent occasion to renew your intimacy with God. Decide to reserve for Him alone a special moment every day, just to be with Him. Don’t let anything or anyone deprive you of this time. Start by singing Him a love song, eyes closed, hands raised, heart passionate. First, express your admiration and your appreciation of WHO He is, then thank Him for what He’s done for you. Let Him inspire you, lead you, and speak to you. Open the Bible anticipating a new revelation of His heart. Expect that “the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.” (Ephesians 1:17)
Your personal time with God is the key to a life that is peaceful, fruitful and victorious. In your intimacy with God, you are blessed…not only for your own benefit, but to BE a blessing. The more you are filled with Him, the more you can have a positive impact in the world. (See 1 Cor.1:5-7 et 2 Cor. 2:14) Your time with God is non-negotiable. Allow no compromise. It is only in this way that grace and peace will be multiplied.
