Saturday, 30 September 2017 – Yom Kippour

Zacharia 12:10 And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

Romans 11:26  and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: « The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

Welcome to the last day of the Daniel Fast for 2017.  Congratulations to each of you who has been faithful to seek the Lord during these 21 days.  Certainly, God has done much in your life.  And yet, there is one more thing for us to do before bringing this fast to a close.

For the Jewish people around the world today is their most holy day.  In the Hebrew language it is called Yom Kippour.  In the book of Leviticus (23:27) God commanded His people to set this day aside to be a day of fasting, a day of repentance (to humble one’s soul), a day of sacrifices, and a day to seek the face of the Holy God of covenant.

Today in Israel, this is a solemn day. People fill the synagogues, and everyone is on a strict fast.  Some groan in prayer while others remain in a reverent silence.

Kippour prophesies the revelation of Messiah, the salvation of Israel, and the ultimate deliverance for God’s people.  It speaks of the promise of the coming King and the establishing of His kingdom in Zion.  And all the people of the earth will rejoice.

We believe, and we declare the promise of God as understood by the apostle Paul: And so, all Israel will be saved, as it is written, from Zion will come the Deliverer, and He will turn Jacob from his sins.

We believe strongly that in this generation God is restoring to the Church the understanding of the Hebraic roots of the faith.  At the same time God is pouring out a spirit of revelation on the Jewish people regarding their Messiah.  The objective is not that the Gentile should look more Jewish, or that the Jew should look more Gentile.  The objective is that Jew and Gentile should look more like Jesus.

So on this last day of the Daniel Fast we want to encourage you to set aside this day as a day to pray specifically for the salvation of Israel.  Pray for the Jewish people around the world.  Pray also for yourself, that God would give you greater understanding about the roots of the faith and the prophetic role that Israel plays in these final days.

KIPPOUR ! It is the divine appointment for repentance and redemption.  We lift up our prayers and supplications in the name of Jesus – Yeshua Hamashiach ben David.
