Acts 10:38 – « God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.”
When we consider this verse concerning our Lord Jesus, we realise that one of His objectives on the Earth was to do good wherever He went and to bring healing and deliverance to all who were prisoners of the enemy of our souls.
In other words, Jesus came to announce the “Good News of the Kingdom of God” for all humanity.
It is for this reason that He passed the baton to us, his disciples, so that we in turn would go from place to place as He did, doing good and healing all who are oppressed of the devil. This is our mandate; this is part of our mission as children of God.
Sometimes as Christians, we expect the great evangelist of worldwide renown to come to our church in order to win souls.
But I believe that we are totally missing the plan of God for the lost if we see this as the only means to evangelise. Worse than that, many of us believe that the call to announce the good news is destined only to a certain few among us.
God the Father has given to us the ministry of reconciliation, and I believe that it is the task of each one of us to discover the gifts and talents that God has put in us to reach the lost, in our families, in our neighbourhoods, in our schools, in our work place. May God be able to manifest Himself wherever we go, so that the light in us may enlighten and draw ever soul that hungers and thirsts to know God.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You that you have given me the ministry of reconciliation. Show me, with the gifts and talents that you have placed in me, how to do the work of an evangelist in every place that You lead me. I also thank you for the miracles that will accompany me, for You have made me a witness to my generation …
