Romans 8:19-21« For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. »

Each of us is called to impact the world around him in one way or another, according to the divine mission entrusted to him by the Lord.  We can influence our environment far beyond what we can think or imagine because we have what the world does not have: the Light! But the world is plunged into darkness … As amazing as it may be appear, and despite the resistance and other misunderstandings that we often confront, the Word of God tells us that creation awaits our revelation with an ardent desire!  The earth nourishes the hidden hope of one day knowing salvation by being freed from the slavery of corruption.

This is probably explained by the fact that God inscribed within every human being the thought of eternity: « He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end». (Ecclesiastes 3.11). Creation is not conscious of its own waiting because this desire was inscribed by God in the mind of each man without his being aware of it. But the revelation of the children of God is no less expected!

This truth is very exciting because it means that as soon as I enter my divine calling, my influence makes me a doorway, an access to the Kingdom of God for people around me because in the depths of their hearts, the desire to know eternal life in Jesus Christ really exists.  The time has come to impact society by broadening our sphere of influence through the various graces God has equipped us with. This refers primarily to spiritual gifts but also to talents and other special skills that we need to develop and refine so that they mature: no one savors a fruit that is not yet ripe…

God wants each of us to enter into enlargement, so we have to clearly identify the gifts and skills that we’ve received, through prayer, counselling and training, so that we can discover see how to activate them to transform people’s lives through our creativity. Consider that, being born of God, the Creator, you have received a divine inheritance from Heavenly Father: a supernatural and unlimited ability to create things that have never existed before, in a multitude of areas.  In this final week of the Daniel Fast, let us pray that God would reveal to us the graces He has given us, as well as the vision of what He wants to do through our lives.

  1. Besides being a truth that stands against the worship of « Mother Nature », the fact that creation groans for the revelation of the Kingdom is a strong motivation to fulfill our heavenly mandate in Mark 16:15, where Jesus says to us: « Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation. » Everything we say and do and create can be a way to preach the gospel. In other words, our lives and our actions here on this planet are one way that God makes the invisible visible! Romans 1:20 – « For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse… » My prayer this morning, for myself, my family and my church echoes that of the apostle Paul for the Colossians :  » that we may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love; in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; and he is before all things, and in him all things consist. »
