« I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. » Revelation 3:15-16
I really believe that our theme is a call and a solemn convocation of God for his Church, and that the quality of our relationship, of our intimacy and of our passion for our Lord will be the driving force to prepare His coming and respond to this call without growing weary.
Having this passion, this fire, this desire, is like the heart of the groom or the bride, preparing with enthusiasm and with great care, their big day, when they will celebrate their sacred union. That day, nothing will left to chance, whether it’s the choice of the bride’s dress, the groom’s suit, the date, the choice of the reception hall, the meal, the number of guests, the wishes of the bride and groom, the choice of wedding rings, and all the other things to achieve this great day.
That day, everyone gives their best so that it’s unforgettable and marked by the passion and love that the future spouses have for each other. And even if certain preparations can sometimes cause tensions or difficulties, nothing can stop the goal that our future newlyweds have set for themselves. Their passion and their love for each other are the fuel for persevering until this long-awaited day.
We are the Bride of Christ, and no matter what we go through on this earth we are heading somewhere : to the marriage of the Lamb. This glorious day when we will see face to face the One we love, because He first loved us passionately, infinitely beyond anything we can understand or conceive as a human being.
Questions to ask yourself today : Am I ready for this great day, this day of the coming of the Lord? And is His church ready? What action will I take in the days to come to carefully prepare for his coming? On the wedding day of the Lamb, shall I be clothed in a wedding garment, in the garment of righteousness? Am I wearing the scent of a worshipper, the sweet perfume of Christ?
Let us not be like the man in Matthew 22:11-12, sitting at the table on the wedding day of the Lamb. The King asked him: « How did you get in here without having a wedding garment? » In other words: « The clothes you wear show me that you have no affection or honor for My Son and His Bride. » This man was thrown out because he had neglected to prepare for this glorious yet dreadful day.
ACTION POINT: Take stock of your life to make sure you have everything you need for the Wedding Day of the Lamb.
PRAYER TARGET: « Father, rekindle in me fire and passion for your presence. Lord, search my heart and show me if there are things that dishonor the name I bear, and if there are, I want to repent and get rid of everything that is not from you, for I desire to bear fruit for the glory of Your Name. Amen.»
Don’t miss the prayer meeting tonight (if you speak French!) Passion spurs passion. Enthusiasm fuels enthusiasm. Excitement breeds excitement. Just as a single tree in the forest that catches fire can start a whole fire, our proximity to each other (while respecting health regulations) can set a whole church ablaze! In addition, “the FERVENT prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective! » (James 5:16)
